Fire door details, already drawn

Thirteen Tufwud door and barrier types, taken straight from the shop drawings and released as IFC4 objects with matching DWG and PDF details. Jamb sections, core build-up, seal positions and IS 3614 classification are already inside the file — place it, schedule it, and get on with the rest of the set.

Why this exists

The detail is already drawn. Use ours.

A fire door detail is not a creative decision — it is a tested assembly whose dimensions are fixed by the certificate. Redrawing it by hand introduces the one thing a fire door cannot tolerate: a discrepancy between the drawing and the tested product.

  1. 01 Filter

Find the type you are specifying

Filter by fire rating, narrow to ISI-marked only, or search by code, acoustic performance or lead lining. Every specification is on the card before you register.

  2. 02 Select

Tick only the formats you need

IFC4 for the model, DXF to place as a detail reference, PDF for the review set and the project record. Select as many types as the project needs in one pass.

  3. 03 Register

    Work email and organisation, once

One registration covers the whole library. Links appear on screen immediately and a copy reaches your inbox, so the files are still there tomorrow.

  4. 04 Place

Drop it in and keep drawing

Ratings, core construction, frame section and seal specification arrive as structured properties, so the doorset schedules straight out of the model.

Drawing it by hand

Every project starts at zero

  • Jamb and head sections redrawn from a PDF catalogue, or traced from a previous job
  • Core build-up, intumescent seal position and rebate depth guessed or omitted
  • A generic door family carries no rating, so the schedule has to be typed by hand
  • Discrepancies surface at the fire NOC stage, when drawings are expensive to change

Using the library

Start from the tested assembly

  • Geometry follows the shop drawings, modelled in millimetres at the catalogue size
  • Rating, IS 3614 classification, core, frame and seals arrive as structured properties
  • A matching 2D detail in DXF and print-ready PDF, drawn from the same source
  • What you draw is what we manufacture, and what the certificate covers

Links live 72 hours

Tufwud will never use these details to spam you.

01

Are the files free, and can I use them on a live project?

Yes to both. There is no charge and no licence fee. The objects are published so that what you draw matches what we manufacture — you may place them in any drawing set, tender package or model, including projects that ultimately use another supplier.

We ask only that you do not redistribute them as your own content, and that you keep the type codes intact so the doorset can be traced back to its test report.

02

Why do I have to register to get them?

Two honest reasons. First, so that we can tell you when a file changes — a revised detail, a new rating, or the native Revit families when they ship. A fire door detail that has quietly gone out of date inside your office template is a real problem, and we would rather be able to reach you.

Second, because knowing which practices are specifying which types is how we decide what to publish next. One registration covers the whole library; you will not be asked again.

03

Which software opens these files?

The IFC4 objects open in every mainstream BIM authoring tool and viewer:

  • Revit 2021 and later — Insert → Link IFC, or File → Open → IFC
  • ArchiCAD 24 and later — native IFC import, geometry and properties intact
  • Tekla Structures, BricsCAD BIM, BlenderBIM / Bonsai
  • Any IFC viewer for checking — Solibri, BIMcollab ZOOM, usBIM, Navisworks

The DWG details open natively in AutoCAD, and in BricsCAD, ZWCAD, DraftSight and any DWG-compatible CAD. They can be placed as a drafting view or attached as an external reference. The PDFs are print-ready at A3.

If your office standard is DXF rather than DWG — or you are on a tool that only reads DXF — ask and we will send the same detail in that format.

04

Are there native Revit families (.rfa)?

Not yet, and we would rather say so plainly. The authoring specification, shared parameter file and type catalogues for five families covering all thirteen products are complete. The families themselves have not been released.

Until they are, the IFC objects import into Revit but arrive at a fixed size and are not wall-hosted. Use them for coordination, clash checking and schedule data — not as parametric door families you resize per opening. Tick the box on the registration form and you will get one email when they ship, and nothing else on that list.

05

What data is inside the IFC objects?

Each object carries its fire rating, IS 3614 classification, core construction, frame section and seal specification as structured properties, alongside the standard Pset_DoorCommon set. The doorset schedules directly out of the model instead of being typed in by hand, and the data round-trips when the model is exchanged.

Geometry follows the shop drawings, is modelled in millimetres at the catalogue reference size, and is validated with IfcOpenShell before release.

06

My project needs a size or configuration that is not in the library

Expected — the library is published at catalogue reference sizes, and most projects need something else. Send the opening schedule and we will confirm what is achievable within the tested range, then issue a project-specific detail.

Note that ISI-marked doorsets are covered by a BIS licence up to 1200 × 2400 mm; beyond that the doorset is supplied against its test report rather than the ISI mark, and we will say which applies before you specify it.

07

How long do the download links stay live?

72 hours. After that, request a fresh copy with the same email address — there is no second registration and no waiting. A copy of every link is also emailed to you at the time of the request, so the files stay reachable from your inbox.

08

Does using these objects commit me to Tufwud as the supplier?

No. There is no obligation attached to the download, and we do not treat it as one.

What we would ask is that if the drawing carries our detail, the doorset that gets installed matches it. A tested assembly is only worth what the built assembly reproduces — substituting an uninsulated leaf into a detail drawn for a fully insulated one leaves the certificate behind, and under NBCS 2026 it leaves compliance behind too.

Specifying a project now

The drawing is the easy part. Get the doorset right.

Send us the opening schedule and we will confirm ratings, sizes and ISI coverage against the tested range before it reaches the fire NOC stage — not after. Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, and every project in between.
