First, understand the Fire rating & how it works :
Fire rating is the duration for which a fire door can withstand fire. Common ratings are 30 minutes (FD30), 60 minutes (FD60), and 120 minutes (FD120). Higher fire ratings usually result in higher costs due to the increased level of protection. The door will cost more when you buy a higher fire-rating door.
- Normal Door : These doors have no fire rating. Normal doors can’t Protect you from fire.
- FD 30 minutes: A 30-minute fire-resistant door’s basic purpose is to survive flames for thirty minutes. But we can’t say a 30-min fire rated door is insulated door as the new IS 3614 Amendment from BIS, a 30-min rated fire door is partially insulated with suffix -PI, attach to it. Which means, a fire door with 30 min rating is not a fully insulated fire door and would not protect or perform in real life situation. Hence, we are not recommending anyone to consider a fire door with 30 min rating.
- FD 60 minutes: Our FD60 fire door offers a minimum of 60 minutes of fire protection. FD60 doors have undergone extensive safety testing, since their purpose is to slow the spread of smoke and fire. FD60-rated doors offer an additional line of defense against a fire in your house or place of business when utilized properly.
- FD 120 minutes: Our FD120 fire doors have up to 120 minutes of smoke and fire protection since our doors are constructed with seasoned wood, and we tested each door to ensure that our materials meet fire safety requirements, which also include our “India’s first ISI-marked fully insulated fire door”. Our FD120 fire doors are perfect for any area that needs a higher degree of fire protection, including big office and residential tower blocks. It can withstand high temperatures and flames for an extended period of time, giving people enough time to evacuate safely.

Integrating fire-resistant materials into the wooden core, along with the detailed finishing, requires skilled labor, contributing to higher costs. Installing a fire door involves more than just hanging it on the frame and making sure it closes. In addition to being substantially heavier than doors without ratings, these doors may also need to be airtight, depending on where they are installed.
