Specification for Composite Acoustic Door - FD120
FD120ID - 120 MIN OF INSULATION
- Fully Insulated acoustic fire door that can control noise and prevent fire spread in various settings, such as conference rooms, broadcasting studios, theatres, and music practice rooms.
- 120-minute fire resistance door system for both integrity and insulation criteria, as per the standards of IS: 3614:2021 (amendment 2023) and BS: 476 part 22.
- Made of non-combustible materials, using the NCBN technology, which do not contribute to the fire or produce any toxic fumes or smoke.
- Tested under the standard heating conditions as specified in IS 17518 (Part 1), to verify the fire performance of the door to restrict the heat radiation and temperature rise on the non-fire side to a maximum of 140° C above the ambient temperature on the exposed surface of the shutter, during the fire test.
- Tested for sound insulation as per ISO 10140-2 / ASTM E 90 for sound transmission loss evaluation of 42 dB.
- Manufactured from engineered treated hardwood or DVL (Densified Veneer Lumber) with a density of 810 kg/cum.
- Pressure treated with fire retardant chemicals in a vacuum impregnation vessel under 160 psi pressure, as per IS:401 standard.
- Kiln seasoned to reduce the moisture content below 15%, as per IS:1141 standard.
- Section size 140mm x 70mm, spray coated with two coats of intumescent paint of minimum 100-micron thickness.
- Single row of non-brush type intumescent strip of size 20mm x 4mm affixed in the slit of the frame for fire and smoke sealing.
- Single row of acoustic seal affixed in the slit of the frame for sound proofing.
- 75mm thick and asbestos free – Integrity and Fully Insulated Acoustic Door, with fire performance of FD 120 ID as per IS:3614:2021 (amendment 2023) standard.
- The core is made of Deurcore, consisting of two layers of 12mm Calcium Silicate boards over a chemically treated internal timber framework of 100mm X 32mm.
- Internal timber framework made of engineered treated hardwood or DVL (Densified Veneer Lumber) with a density of 810 kg/cum, and is pressure treated with fire retardant chemicals in a vacuum impregnation vessel under 160 psi pressure, as per IS:401 standard. Also kiln seasoned to reduce the moisture content below 15%, as per IS:1141 standard.
- The infill made of 32mm thick ceramic fibre (density 128 Kg/cum) and vermiculite mix, which provides insulation and fire resistance.
- Placement of 3 mm thick rubber interlayer sheet both sides, sandwiched between calcium silicate board
- Faced with 6mm thick fire-retardant high-density fibre board, and is internally lipped with hardwood beading.
- Pasted in hydraulic press under 25 MPa pressure, spray coated with two coats of intumescent paint of minimum 100-micron thickness.
- Single row of non-brush type intumescent strip of size 10mmx4mm affixed on the periphery for fire and smoke sealing in the slit on all edges of the shutter except the bottom, without any external lipping.
